Hi, this was our first time at the blues festival, we had a great time. Swanage is great, great bands, and so good to be among like minded people, who just want to listen to good music and jig about with a beer to hand. We saw 6/7 bands, it was such a mix up, from being tightly packed in an audience of sweaty t-shirts, a tasty pub/restaurant meal, smart coffee shops, bits and bobs shopping, to finishing at the Grand sitting in a very grown up sort of way, toe tapping, watching and listening. Fabulous entertainment.

Great festival as usual Steve - lots of great jamming and great bands - and sunshine too! Thx for all the great organisational work
NH said:
Epic!! Totally fantastic weekend, love the music, the people friendly, the venues great, the buskers at the station... everything perfect.... our campsite was also lovely, my first time in a yurt but it was very special… even the weather! We will be back again next year... we have 2 new converts and will be bringing a few more. Thank you, Steve
NF said:
I’m sorry that I did not get to see you over the weekend to thank you in person for arranging another fantastic Swanage Blues weekend. This was our 7th on the trot since we first discovered the event. Truly brilliant and amazing value for £10 each
HB said:
We have just recovered from an amazing week-end at the Festival. Where else can you get wall to wall blues from Thursday through to Sunday night for just a tenner? Every venue (we managed to visit almost all of them) and every band were top class. Swanage is such a lovely resort and the locals and blues fans get on so well together, we can't wait for the next one.
MM said:
Hi, this was our first festival and we could not believe the quality of the bands performing. We enjoyed the small venues, getting up front and personal with the bands and after they had finished their sets they were approachable and willing to talk about the music which was refreshing. Thanks again for a great weekend’s entertainment and looking forward to next year.
NP said:

DIRECTIONS TO VENUES
For town centre map see centre pages
Taxi fares in Swanage are very reasonable, so don’t be put off by distances if you’re on foot.
Starting from the pier, the first venues are the East Bar and Bar One (1 High St), then the White Horse (11), Ship Inn (23a), White Swan (31), Anchor Inn (30), *Tawny’s (52) and Red Lion (63). The Black Swan (159) is about 300 yards further with The Legion (150) another 200 yards on from that.
Opposite The Legion is Priests Way, which leads to Panorama Rd and Swanage Bay View Holiday Park about 400 yards away.
Back into town and in between the White Swan and the Red Lion is Mount Pleasant Lane, a footpath that leads to YHA Swanage in Cluny Crescent, about 500 yards away.
The Mowlem Theatre (not a participating venue this time) is where Station Road, Shore Road and Institute Road all converge.
From the Mowlem, go along Shore Road with the bay on your right to *Sea Breeze Restaurant (7 Shore Rd); keep on along the bay and at the Bull & Boat (non-venue) bear left up the hill to the Crow’s Nest (11 Ulwell Rd). From the Crow’s Nest, cross over into Burlington Rd for the Grand Hotel.
Herston Caravan & Camp Site is in Washpond Lane and best accessible via the High Street over the road from the Royal Oak (non-venue) at 417 High St.
The Isle of Purbeck Golf Club is about halfway between Studland and Corfe Castle, 2.8 miles from Swanage, with sensational views of Poole Harbour.
Corfe Castle Royal British Legion can be reached by road, bus or train. If travelling by train, check the times carefully in advance.
ACCESS - If you have any mobility or other problems or requirements, please check with the venues in advance.
MEMBERS - Non-members are welcome at both Corfe Castle and Swanage Royal British Legion Clubs, and at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club.
* WARNING - Sea Breeze and Tawny’s are restaurants, so please book in advance. The restaurants are primarily for people who have booked and are dining. Please respect their space. .
